PRECOMPACT®️
The PRECOMPACT®️ system developed by Sidus Engineering is designed to ensure high-quality casts, dimensional repeatability and energy optimisation in green sand moulding processes.
The operating cycle is based on the controlled management of sand quantity and a gradual compaction sequence that combines gravity filling, pre-compaction from below and final pressing from above via squeeze heads.
The sand is measured out precisely by a weighing hopper and distributed in a flask from above, taking advantage of the kinetic energy of the drop for the first natural compaction phase. An upper levelling system ensures that the sand is levelled off to prepare the surface for the subsequent steps.
Compaction at the mould section is at the heart of the PRECOMPACT®️ process. The mould bench ascends gradually until the controlled densification of the sand is obtained, commencing with the most critical areas of the cast. Final pressing from above at an adjustable pressure completes the process, ensuring that the cast is uniform and stable.
This configuration enables:
• increased hardness of the cast in areas in contact with the mould
• suitable permeability on the back of the flask
• accurate reproduction of geometric details
• reduction in subsequent steps
The cycle is complete with the cast being separated from the mould and the flask being automatically placed on the line, ensuring production continuity and optimised run times.
PRECOMPACT®️ stands out with its straightforward construction, operational reliability and reduced running costs, making it suitable for new installations and revamped facilities as part of sustainable foundry upgrades.
